What is self-defense?

The word itself is easy to understand, it is an act of defending oneself from any kind of harm caused by any external factor. In today’s world when every news is about violence against wsomen, children, old people and even men basically towards anyone and everyone, it is of utmost importance to learn some basic self-defense to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Self defense does not mean attacking, it means the act of stopping the attack and under the law self defense is given a provision as “right to self defense”.   • People think with just attending a couple of self-defenses classes for 2-3 hours will make them experts and they will be able to defend themselves. This is a very wrong notion because in order to become an expert even in the basic blocking and kicking the person has to practice it religiously otherwise it won’t stick.
  • People develop over confidence. People think they are unstoppable and no one can harm them and get into serious situation without any proper training and then blame that self-defense does not work.

Self-defense should be learned to protect one self and those who cannot protect themselves but never used for attacking or harming someone. It should never be used the first resort for any kind of dispute, you should try to resolve and cal the situation by engaging in words and talking to the opposite person.
