Blocked Drain- A Problem of Everyday Life

Tired of the drains getting blocked now and then? The DIYs are not showing long-lasting effects? It won't work for obvious reasons. Only professional plumbers are the right person to handle such grave issues and clean the blocked drains. There are many reasons behind the gutters getting clogged. Let's see what are those how a plumber can help you.

 The reason behind blocked drains

There are many reasons behind the drains collecting objects and getting blocked, but we have discussed a few and most common ones in this article.

1. Fat and Grease-   This is the main cause of clogged drains. Although it is the easiest to happen, it is easiest to repair too. It happens because fat substances are usually sticky. So, whenever you wash down the sinks, the pipes catch the fat. And with time, the fat starts accumulating other food particles washed down the sink and eventually ended up blocking the drain.

2. Soap and hair- You may not notice it every day. But in the bathroom, you shed hair while taking a bath. Sometimes soap particles stick to the pipeline, and it starts gathering the hair every day. Also, if you shave in the bathroom, the extra hair with shaving cream is prone to stick in the pipe. Eventually, it creates a stubborn clog in the pipe.

3. Trees and leaves- This is a bit complex problem. Having a tree near the sewerage line can cause blocked drains. There are two reasons behind it. First, falling trees gathered in the drain tends to clog it. Another one is the tree roots growing into the sewerage line. The second problem is far more complicated than the first one.

4. Toiletries- Toilet papers and baby diapers are also the reason behind the blocked drains. Toilet papers can be flushed in the toilet, but doing that in an excessive amount can create a clog in the line. Also, baby diapers are not flushed in the toilet as it is not appropriately dispersed in the water. Moreover, the diapers expand their size when they come in contact with water. Therefore, it is a complete no to flush these in the toilet.

5. Poor DIYs- Although DIYs are a great option to save money, it leads to more expenses in the long run. For example, an incorrect DIY installation leads to improper water flow, broken pipes and further expensive repairs.

6. Storm or heavy rain- The drain pipes are not entirely weatherproof, meaning those cannot take every impact of weather. Therefore, it gets affected by heavy rain and storm or may get broken or over flooded.

How can a plumber help you get rid of blocked drains?

The entire process of hiring a plumber is pretty simple. They work in the following manner-

Inspect- Once you call them for the repair, they will come and inspect the blockage and try to figure out the root cause of the problem.
