Varieties OF Stretch Ceiling Lighting That Enhances THE Indoor Beauty

When a suspended lighting system is attached to a perimeter track on the ceiling of a room, more uniform and brighter lighting is expected all over the space. Usually, lightweight lighting fixtures with innovative designs are preferred on the ceiling tracks. Sometimes, a floating panel of an attractive pattern is created on the ceiling, for supporting these fixtures installed on the ceiling surface. Different types of stretch ceiling lighting systems are available in the market and people need to choose the best ones suitable for each room.

Varieties Of Stretch Ceiling Lighting Available For Different Rooms

Stretch Ceiling Lighting
  • Chandelier light – It is an arrangement of many lights, which are joined together and suspended from the ceiling with a rod or chain. However, this type of stretch ceiling lighting demands great height of the ceiling and thus, can be seen only in old mansions or huge bungalows & hotels.

  • Incandescent light – This type of light bulb turns very hot within a few minutes, for which it should be placed at a safe distance from the ceiling. Expert electricians measure an optimum distance so that this heat does not adversely affect the ceiling surface.

  • Energy-saver light – This lighting bulb can be placed close to the web or panel fixed on the ceiling, as it does not turn hot even after glowing for hours. It is the perfect choice for the recessed type of stretch ceiling lighting, where the bulb is placed in a hollow space made in the ceiling.

  • Halogen light – It contains lesser power than an incandescent bulb, though it emits a large amount of heat as well. Hence, it is best to install a halogen bulb from hanging fixtures, to maintain a safe distance with the ceiling.

  • LED light – Presently, it is the most popular lighting form, as it consumes very less amount of energy in spite of shining as brightly as an incandescent bulb and thus, it saves electricity bills heavily. It is found that a 3-watt LED bulb can produce as much light as a 40-watt incandescent bulb. Hence, the installation of LED bulbs is highly preferred in the stretch ceiling lighting system. A suspended ceiling can be illuminated by placing LED bulbs all along the periphery of the ceiling, at regular intervals. Usually, LED bulbs of certain specific voltage are installed over the stretch ceiling, in which voltage will remain constant. Experienced electricians maintain the perfect distance for stretch ceiling lighting, to connect the bulbs safely to the main source of power supply.

  • Recessed spot light – The installation of this lighting arrangement is quite simple and thus, it does not need much expense. Since no extra fixture is needed for suspension of bulbs, its cost becomes more affordable. People can install LED bulbs of different colours and shapes, to make the lighting system more attractive in living rooms. There may or may not be a rim placed around the light bulb, as bulbs without the rim make the ceiling shines more brightly compared to the rimmed ones.

Stretch Ceiling Lighting
  • Fibre optic lighting – In this type of stretch ceiling lighting system, spotlights of low watt are fitted close to the ceiling surface. It is mainly done with the vision of creating an illusion of sky, rendering a dreamy look to the interior space. Usually, it is installed in bedrooms, where high power lighting may not be preferred.

People prefer soft light in their living rooms, with a transformer and other electrical equipment concealed within the ceiling. Uniform or indirect lighting is desired in bedrooms, where too much bright light is usually not needed. Dim lights of pleasant colours are preferred in children’s rooms, to keep the dark ceiling softly illuminated all the time. However, kitchens and working areas need to have bright spotlights, to increase visibility.
